Clinical Training & Therapy Style

My clinical training began with a Master of Social Work, with a clinical concentration, from the University of Georgia.  Over a decade later I completed a Master of Christian Thought at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC.

I am comprehensively trained and certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and comprehensively trained in DBT (a research-based therapy for managing intense emotions).

My therapy approach includes, primarily, education, coaching  and support.  I focus on psychoeducation & skills that are practiced both in and out of sessions.  I am intentional about fostering a supportive space where clients feel comfortable working on these things that foster relationship growth.

My demeanor is warm, engaging and energetic. I adapt therapy to work with many personality styles.
