In working with couples and marriages I tend to focus on education, coaching and support. I provide lots of psychoeducation & teach skills to enhance communication and connection. Most importantly. I provide a safe and supportive space where these things can take root and relationships can grow.
I also see
individuals who struggle with frustrating, and even debilitating depression and anxiety - folks who feel chronically stressed & who want to find a sense of peace and balance, but are unsure how. Together, we work toward lasting solutions that improve quality of life.
My style is warm, engaging and practical. I am creative and adapt to the unique needs of each client. I give out of session assignments when appropriate. I want to help you reach your goals and improve your quality of life.
My clinical training began with a Master of Social Work, (with a clinical concentration), from the University of Georgia. Over a decade later I completed a Master of Christian Thought at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. During the course of my career I have completed comprehensive training in DBT (therapy for managing intense emotions) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
